Convert a Web Page to PDF using bookmarklet.

Recently we have discussed an article, a website which converts HTML page to pdf. Now we are going to discuss about a bookmarklet which is used to convert HTML page to pdf. A small JavaScript file is saved as bookmark, each time this bookmarklet is to be clicked to convert required web page to pdf.

First we need to expose the bookmark toolbar on the browser. Different browsers have different methods to show toolbar on the browser.

For Firefox: go to the menu View > Toolbars, Select Bookmark Toolbar.

For Chrome: go to settings > Tools, Select Always show bookmarks bar.

For Safari: go to the menu View > Show Bookmarks Bar.

For Opera: Make sure that Personal Bar is visible. If it’s not, go to the menu View > Toolbars and select it.

For Internet Explorer: Make sure your Links Toolbar is visible. If it's not, right click on any part of the menu bar and make sure Links is checked.

Now go to this page.

Drag the link ‘Save Page as PDF’ to bookmark toolbar.

To convert a webpage to pdf, open the desired webpage and click ‘save page as pdf’ on bookmark toolbar.It takes some time to convert your webpage to pdf

After the completion of conversion a download window opens, save the file and the download completes.

Note: The tutorial is explained using Chrome browser.
